Hyderabad: Telangana has registered 83.9 charge-sheeting rate in 2020, according to statistics released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) for the year 2020.
In its report on Crime in India-2020, as many as 1,35,885 cases registered under the provisions of Indian Penal Code (IPC) while 1,18,338 in 2019 and 1,13,951 cases in 2018. Around 802 murders took place last year while 244 cases pertained to culpable homicide not amounting to murder and 6,615 cases were booked under Section 304 A (causing death by negligence) of IPC.
At least 6,288 cases were related to deaths in road accidents while 1,332 were hit-run-cases. Telangana registered 158 dowry death cases last year while 625 cases pertained to abetment to suicide.
