Hyderabad: The State government has released Rs 15.15 crore towards providing 25 kg rice each to teaching and non-teaching staff of recognised private schools in the State for the month of April. The Education department had already released Rs 32 crore towards providing financial assistance to the beneficiaries.

The funds were released in accordance with Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s announcement that the State government will provide Rs 2,000 and 25 kg rice to all the staff of recognised private schools in the State till the schools reopen. About 1.24 lakh staff of recognised private schools will benefit from the government’s gesture.

The district collectors have been already instructed to obtain necessary data of the staff working in recognised private schools in their respective districts and initiate measures to provide financial assistance and distribution of rice within the scheduled period i.e. 21 to 25 of every month. The Civil Supplies Corporation also has been directed to supply about 3,625 tonnes of fine variety rice to the beneficiaries without compromising on the quality.
