Telangana releases Rs 2,000 crore towards pending employee dues

The Telangana government released Rs 2,000 crore in the first phase of clearing pending employee dues, including GPF and commutation dues. The government assured that the remaining Rs 4,000 crore would be cleared within the promised 100-day timeline.

Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Friday released Rs 2,000 crore in the first phase of clearing long-pending employee dues, including General Provident Fund (GPF) dues to retired employees and commutation dues up to May 2025. Special Chief Secretary for Finance Sandeep Kumar Sultania issued orders in this regard.

The funds were released in accordance with the assurance given by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka to the Employees’ Joint Action Committee that the total pending dues of Rs 6,000 crore would be cleared within 100 days. The government said the remaining Rs 4,000 crore would be released within the stipulated timeline.
