Hyderabad: The surge in daily Covid-19 infections in Telangana driven by the Omicron variant has continued with health authorities on Tuesday reporting 1,920 positive cases out of which 1,015 were from areas under GHMC. Two fatalities related to Covid-19 were also reported on Tuesday, which has taken the overall number of deaths in TS to 4,045.

The active Covid-19 positive infections in Telangana, as on Tuesday are 16,496 out of which close to 14,500 active cases are from areas under GHMC.


The Omicron variant is also registering a significant increase in other urban centres of Telangana with authorities reporting 209 positive infections in Medchal-Malkajgiri and 159 cases in Rangareddy district on Tuesday.

The authorities on Tuesday conducted 83,153 Covid tests of which results of 15,969 samples were awaited. A total of 417 individuals have recovered with a recovery rate of 97.05 per cent on Tuesday.

So far, a total of 3,02,77, 738 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 6,97,755 have tested positive and 6,77,234 persons have recovered.
