Hyderabad: Mr. Amit Sanghi, President of the Telangana Rifle Association (TRA) and Vice President of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), have launched a prestigious recognition programme to honor veteran shooters who have made extraordinary contributions to the sport.

The first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award under this initiative was conferred upon Nawab Shafath Ali Khan of Hyderabad at a grand ceremony hosted at the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU), Mhow, on Saturday.

Mr. Khan, a stalwart of Indian shooting, began his competitive journey in 1968 and today holds the distinction of being the longest-serving shooter in the country. His legacy stands as a testament to five decades of relentless passion, service, and excellence in marksmanship.

This inaugural recognition not only celebrates Mr. Khan’s phenomenal journey but also marks the beginning of a historic tradition—one that will ensure the contributions of India’s veteran shooters are honored and remembered for generations to come.

“We wholeheartedly congratulate Mr. Shafath Ali Khan on this well-deserved honor and extend our deep appreciation to Mr. Amit Sanghi for his unwavering commitment to promoting the sport and preserving its rich heritage,” Amit Sanghi said.

“Let us stand united in saluting the heroes of Indian shooting and building a culture of respect and remembrance for those who paved the way,” he said.
