Telangana School Education Department issues strict confidentiality order

The Telangana School Education Department has instructed schools and colleges not to share students' personal information, including mobile numbers, with private individuals or agencies.

Hyderabad: The School Education department on Tuesday directed all schools and colleges not to share confidential information relating to students, including students’ mobile numbers, parents’/guardians’ mobile numbers, and any other personal data, with any private individuals, private agencies, organisations or unauthorised persons under any circumstances.

In a press release, School Education director Dr. E Naveen Nicolas said such sensitive information must be kept utmost confidential and used only for official educational purposes in accordance with prescribed rules and regulations.


Any violation of the instructions, including unauthorized sharing, disclosure, misuse of students or parent data, will be viewed seriously, and immediate disciplinary/actionable proceedings will be initiated against the individuals concerned as per the rules in vogue, he added.
