Hyderabad: The School Education Department has intensified its efforts to achieve 100 per cent Aadhaar enrolment and mandatory biometric updates for all school students in the State. Accordingly, it has set a 100 per cent Aadhaar enrolment target for government and private schools. At present, the Aadhaar enrolment for school children stands at 94 per cent

In a meeting held here on Wednesday, School Education Director Dr E Naveen Nicolas instructed officials concerned to complete the pending mandatory biometric updates of all students and ensure they are reflected in the respective school UDISE plus login portals on priority.

Three Aadhaar manpower agencies have been deployed across Telangana, with 11 districts allotted to each agency, for carrying out Aadhaar enrolments and mandatory biometric updates, he said. He asked parents of students whose biometric updates are pending to approach the school authorities concerned for necessary facilitation.

The Director highlighted that timely completion of mandatory biometric updates was essential to avoid difficulties faced by students during competitive examinations such as NEET, JEE, IIT and other national-level entrance examinations.

All parents were requested to verify the Aadhaar update status of their children and ensure that Aadhaar details are updated promptly to prevent any future inconvenience.

P Rajeev, Joint Director; Naresh, UIDAI Project Manager; Praveen Kumar and Narender, School Education Aadhaar Technical Personnel; Project managers of the three Aadhaar manpower agencies; and district coordinators among others also participated.
