Telangana schools announces half-day schools from March 16 amid rising temperatures

The School Education department has announced half-day schools across Telangana from March 16 to April 23 due to rising temperatures. Schools will function from 8 am to 12.30 pm. Summer vacation will begin on April 24 and end on June 11

Hyderabad: With temperatures soaring across the State, the School Education department will operate schools for half a day from March 16 to April 23.
The schools will function from 8 am to 12.30 pm and this timing is applicable to all schools irrespective of their management. Government and local body schools will serve the mid-day meals to students around 12.30 pm and later they will be sent home.

Schools designated as centres for the SSC Public Examinations will operate from 1 pm to 5 pm as the examinations will be conducted in the morning session. In such government schools with Class X exam centres, the mid-day meal will be served first, followed by the classes.


After completion of the exams, these schools will function as usual from 8 am to 12.30 pm. The schools will have summer vacation from April 24 to June 11 and they will reopen for the new academic year 2026-27 on June 12.
