The School Education department has announced a 13-day Dasara holiday for schools, commencing September 21. The junior colleges will have their holidays a week later, starting from September 28.

After holidays till October 3, the schools will reopen on October 4. If students skip school on October 4, which is a Saturday, they can extend their vacation by two days and rejoin the classwork on Monday, October 6.

The junior colleges have an eight-day holiday, including Sundays, till October 5, with reopening scheduled for October 6. Students will have half-yearly examinations from November 10 to 15.

Prior to vacation, the schools have to conclude their formative assessment (FA) – 2 examinations. After resuming classwork, students have to take summative assessment (SA) – 1 examinations from October 24 to 31.

After evaluation of the answer scripts, SA 1 results will be declared by November 6. Following completion of SA 1, except for teaching, there will be no examination in the month of November.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) – Hyderabad has announced a one-week Dasara vacation for colleges under its ambit from September 29 to October 4, while the OU declared holidays from September 28 to October 5.
