Hyderabad: The State government has requested the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) to convene a coordination committee meeting only after a full board meeting and if necessary call for an emergency board meeting.
In a letter to the board chairman, Telangana Irrigation Engineer-in-Chief (General) C. Muralidhar said that the matter related to notification of jurisdiction of projects in Krishna basin by KRMB is an issue having serious consequences on Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and it is to be discussed in detail in a full board meeting.
As per Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act (APRA)-2014, any decision on important issues has to be discussed and decided in a board meeting. Without having an opinion and guidance of the full board meeting, it is not possible to discuss any issues and decide directly in the coordination committee on operationalisation of various clauses of the Gazette.
Therefore, it is requested that the coordination committee meeting may be convened only after a detailed full board meeting and if necessary, call for an emergency board meeting, Muralidhar added.
