Telangana sees steady rise in Covid cases

Hyderabad: The daily Covid-19 positive infections have continued to rise in Telangana with health authorities on Friday reporting 311 positive infections out of which 198 were reported from areas under GHMC. Two Covid-19 fatalities were also reported on Friday, taking the cumulative number of deaths to 4,027 in Telangana. On Thursday, the daily Covid positive cases in the State were 280 out of which 167 were from areas under GHMC.

Apart from Hyderabad, a total of 32 Covid positive cases were reported in Medchal-Malkajgiri and 28 positive infections were reported from Rangareddy district on Friday. The Covid infections from the rest of the districts were in single digits.


Authorities conducted 36, 759 Covid tests on Friday out of which results of another 4, 498 samples are awaited. A total of 222 patients recovered on Friday, taking the overall number of recoveries in the state to 6, 74, 221.
