Jangaon: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday asserted that Telangana would never ever face drought nor will the people of the State face any power shortage in future. “Once described as one of the most backward region in the country, Telangana has witnessed phenonemal growth in the past eight years, giving other well established and older States a run for their money in growth, development and welfare,” he said.

Stating that the new State was doing wonders on all fronts, the Chief Minister said that not just the urban parts but even the remote areas were set to witness multifold growth due to the conducive economic ecosystem created in the last eight years. Jangaon district along with Medchal, Yadadri, Hanamkonda, and Warangal districts is set emerge as a major industrial growth corridor.

Addressing the district level authorities after inaugurating the collectorate complex here on Friday, he said that the Jangaon, which once a drought prone area, had witnessed marvelous development due to several initiatives including the irrigation facilities through the Devadula lift irrigation project. “During the time of movement for separate State for Telangana, I was one day travelling to Warangal from Siddipet. When I was asked to stop off at Bachhannapet mandal centre , I had literally got tears in my eyes and wept due to the horrific drought conditions that forced the youngsters to migrate to other places to eke out a living leaving the old people at the village. I was moved so deeply at the plight of the region that was synonymous with drought,” he said, and added that Jangaon district is now getting huge paddy harvest.

“The land prices of the Jangaon area have also shot up many fold . Once the land was sold at Rs two to three lakh per acre, but now it is Rs two to three crore along the highway. Even the land in the villages is priced at anywhere between Rs 20 lakhs to Rs 40 lakhs on roadside. This has happened due to several steps taken by us collectively,” he said and appreciated the employees for the growth of the State. He has proudly announced that there would no drought not even in Jangaon but also in the entire State.

“There will be no power outings at any cost in the future,” he said and added that Telanagan had overtaken several big states in the development. Stating that the State is attracting many big industries and IT companies due to the eco-system created under the TRS rule after formation of the State, the Chief Minister said that cosmopolitan culture, no caste and religious chauvinism and maintenance of the law and order were helping the State to make wonders in the progress. “Villas in Hyderabad and surrounding areas are sold at Rs 14 crore to Rs 25 crore each. Even the people from Delhi and Mumbai are showing interest to have villas in Hyderabad,” he added.

Referring to creation of the new districts, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said that the district had been divided after much deliberations with certain clear objectives, and opined that the creation of the new districts would usher in development in the remotest parts of the State.

On issues related to zonal system and allotment of the employees, Chandrashekhar Rao has opined that they would be sorted out and directed the Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to take steps to provide special allowance to the employees working in the remote areas for the development of the State. “These are minor issues. For the larger interest of the State which is permanent, we should resolve them and strive for the development of the State. The government and officials should work hand in hand,” he said and appealed to the employees to strive for the development of the State like the past. “People from other state one day will talk of Telnagana State as the richest employees,” he said and added that Telangana would going to witness incredible growth.

“The per capita income of the people in State will soon become Rs 2.70 lakh from Rs 2.37 lakh. This would be much higher than that of the Andhra Pradesh State, which has Rs 1.70 lakg per capita income,” he proudly announced.
