Telangana state squad returns with 100% medal haul; coach demands ice rink to chase Olympic dreams

Telangana’s figure skaters delivered a flawless performance at the 21st National Ice Skating Championship in Dehradun, winning seven medals. Despite a 100% success rate, coach Anup Kumar Yama highlighted the urgent need for a local ice rink to nurture Olympic dreams

Hyderabad: Telangana Ice Figure Skaters put up an impressive performance winning three gold, two silver and two bronze in the 21st National Ice Skating Championship in Dehradun.
Telangana happened to be the only state where every participant won a medal.
The list of medallists: Advika Muthar (gold); K. Sathwik (gold); P. Prateek (gold); D. Orjith (silver); P. Tejesh (silver); Shriya Murali (bronze) and Jeevansh Sunkari (bronze).

The Skaters have also expressed extreme sorrow for not having an Ice Skating Rink in Telangana to pursue their Winter Olympic Gold Medals dream for India.

“With an Ice Skating Rink in Telangana, the state can produce Winter Olympic Gold Medalists in 4 Winter Olympic Sports and make the mark for the first ever Winter Olympic Medals for India”, emphasised the Telangana team coach and Arjuna Awardee Anup Kumar Yama.
