Kothagudem: The CPI (ML) New Democracy (ND) Telangana State Committee has detached itself from the party’s Central Committee and announced the creation of a new party.
In a statement released to the media here on Tuesday, the party’s Telangana State Committee secretary DV Krishna and its assistant secretary Potu Ranga Rao said they would work independently under the name, CPI (ML) Praja Pandha.
They said the party Central Committee had failed to mend its extremist and outdated policies despite several appeals. In addition to that, it tried to dilute the party in Telangana by appointing a rival State Committee to work against the existing committee.
Krishna and Ranga Rao opposed creation of Pratighatana armed forces to work underground in the forests and accused the Central Committee of failing to conduct customary conferences once in three years.
The new party would carry out non-Parliamentary and Parliamentary agitations to protect the interests of suppressed sections, labour class, minorities and adivasis, the leaders said. Former Yellandu MLA Gummadi Narsaiah was among those who signed the statement.
