Hyderabad: Raising serious objection over felling of palm trees in Korrmula village of Ghatkesar, former Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud demanded the State government to initiate stern action against those responsible for the act.

Upon receiving information over the felling of palm trees in the village, the former Minister on Sunday visited the spot and interacted with locals.

All the trees were decades old and helping toddy tappers eke out a livelihood. The government should direct the officials to take up measures for replantation of the trees in the village, besides booking criminal cases against those involved in the incident, Srinivas Goud demanded.
