Telangana SSC students to get new answer booklet

So far, students are provided main answer sheets comprising four pages and additional answer sheets containing four pages, along with a graph sheet, for writing answers.

Hyderabad: Students appearing for the SSC Public Examinations in March 2025 will not have to juggle multiple answer sheets during their examination. In place of the existing multiple answer sheets system, the Education department introduced a single 24-page answer booklet for all the Class X exams, starting this academic year 2024-25.

The 24-page booklet will eliminate the need for multiple sheets, ensuring that answers are in a single booklet and reduces the risk of pages getting misplaced with improper tying of the sheets. This move is also aimed at curbing mass copying in the examination halls.

In the eleventh minute, students struggle to tie together their main answer sheet with additional sheets and graphs, even misplacing or losing the crucial pages. This issue is not just adding stress among students but also creating challenges for teachers during the evaluation work.

“Since the Board of Intermediate and universities including the Osmania University have been following a 24-page answer booklet system in the examinations, it has been decided to introduce the same in Class X exams,” a senior official said.

With introduction of the single answer booklet, students will be provided only a 24-page booklet for five subjects. However, in the case of physical science and biological science exams, students will be handed over a 12-page answer booklet for each subject.

When asked whether or not additional answer sheets will be provided if a student completes the 24-page answer booklet, the official said “It is not possible for students to complete the answer booklet. So far, no decision has been made with regards to providing additional sheets”.

In a letter, Directorate of Government Examinations asked district educational officers to inform deputy educational officers, mandal educational officers and head masters and principal of all high schools with regards to introduction of a 24-page answer booklet in Class X exams.
