Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Students from a Zilla Parishad High School alleged that a teacher was thrashing them under the influence of alcohol, at Gundayipet village in Koutala mandal, on Thursday.
A student claimed that he received injuries on his hands and legs when their social science teacher Srinivas hit him with a stick during a study hour. He accused the teacher of punishing him after getting intoxicated.
The student wanted the Education Department to take action against the teacher by probing into the incident.
Meanwhile, many parents charged that they were hesitating to send their wards to the school due to this, and requested the officials to take stringent action against the teacher.
They regretted that the students were showing disinterest in attending classes.
Officials of the Education Department were not available for a comment.
