Hyderabad: Telangana students excelled in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Paper 1 (BE/BTech) results announced on Monday, securing not just 100 percentiles but also top ranks.
Five Telangana students secured 100 percentiles, with Mantha Shiva Kamesh bagging All India rank 7, Sai Ritwik Reddy (14 rank), Vivan Sharad Maheshwari (19 rank), and D Bhavithesh Reddy (24 rank). Rishi Premnath also achieved a perfect 100 percentile.
Ritwik Reddy emerged as the All India topper in the EWS category, while Asna Mallavarapu, who secured All India rank 66, from the State stood as the All India topper in the girls’ category.
Ritwik Reddy said he studied with the goal of getting into an IIT. “I used to study around 10 hours a day. Instead of studying continuously, I took breaks in between. I relaxed by playing sports, especially table tennis. I plan to join IIT Bombay or IIT Madras by clearing the JEE Advanced,” he said.
Another top scorer, Vivan Sharad Maheshwari, said he had been preparing for JEE for the past two years. “Finally, my dream came true with a 100 percentile score. The guidance and study material provided by my college faculty were helpful. I stayed away from social media and worked hard. To handle stress, I spent time with my family. I also made sure to spend some time outdoors and played games to stay relaxed,” he said.
As per the National Testing Agency, which announced the results, 26 students scored 100 percentiles. Two Sri Chaitanya students — Pasala Mohith and Bijjam Venkata Chandra Sekhar Reddy — from Andhra Pradesh, who scored 100 percentiles, shared All India rank 1.
A total of 16,04,854 unique candidates registered in both sessions (January/April) and 15,38,468 appeared.
Meanwhile, errors continue to surface in the JEE Main question papers. In session 2, answers for seven questions were revised. One question from the April 4 exam was withdrawn. A majority of the errors were in Physics. Similar mistakes had occurred in Physics during session 1 as well.
