Hyderabad: The Telangana State United Teachers’ Federation (TS UTF) demanded that the Congress government withdraw the proposed increase of employees’ retirement age and release the pending bills immediately.

During a UTF state office bearers meeting held here on Sunday, MLC A Narsi Reddy and UTF president Chava Ravi said enhancing the retirement age to postpone pensioner payments was not right.

The teachers demanded the government implement the promises made to the employees and teachers. They wanted the PRC report be brought immediately besides releasing four DAs, which have been due since long.

Both Reddy and Ravi sought implementation of a minimum time scale for the employees working the KGBVs, URS and Ashram Schools besides change in Gurukuls timings to suit students and teachers.

A resolution demanding allocation of 15 percent of the State budget for education, abolishing NEP 2020, NPS cancellation and implementation of the old pension scheme was passed during the meeting.
