Telangana: Teachers’ union urges govt to postpone reopening of schools

Hyderabad: Members of the Progressive Recognized Teachers Union Telangana State (PRTU-TS) on Saturday submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan here requesting him to solve teachers’ problems.
They urged the Chief Minister to complete the division of cadre based on the newly formed districts apart from giving promotions and starting the process of transfers. They also requested him to temporarily postpone the reopening of schools due to the prevailing Covid-19 situation and continue with online classes and 50 per cent teachers’ attendance.
Education Minister Sabita Indra Reddy, MLCs K Janardhan Reddy and K Raghotham Reddy, PRTU TS State President P Sripal Reddy, General Secretary B Kamalakar Rao and others were present.
