Hyderabad: The School Education department has directed all teaching and non-teaching staff to attend the schools regularly from August 26 (Thursday).

Presently, teaching and non-teaching staff of the government-run schools are working on an alternate day basis.

The department on Tuesday issued instructions for reopening of the schools for physical classes for the academic year 2021-22 from September 1.

The District Education Officers have been directed to ensure cleaning of schools and hostel premises including classrooms, benches, windows, toilets, taps, handwash sinks and drinking water tanks, overhead tanks etc., before August 30. They were also directed to ensure the supply of electricity in all schools.

The Covid-19 safety measures including the wearing of face masks have been mandatory for all students, teaching and non-teaching staff. The headmasters have been asked to prepare a customized seating plan as per classroom size while ensuring physical distance.

“In case, any student shows symptoms of fever, he/she should be immediately sent to the nearest health facility and tested for the Covid-19. If any child is found to be Covid positive, all students and staff of the school should be tested through both RTPCR and RAT tests,” read the instructions.

The department has directed the headmasters to ensure that good quality rice and other items were used in the mid-day meals. If necessary, they were asked to draw fresh stock from the Civil Supplies department.

To avoid crowding, the schools were asked to follow staggered timings for serving the mid-day meals.
