Siddipet: Yet another farmer has died by suicide in Telangana, unable to cope with the pressure of repaying mounting debts. Ragula Narsimhulu (36), a young farmer from Jagadevpur, ended his life on Monday night by hanging himself in a field on the village outskirts.
Narsimhulu had leased two acres of land for cultivation and was growing various crops. Along with his wife Meenakshi, he also worked as an agricultural labourer to supplement the family income. Despite their efforts, the family’s financial burden kept growing.
Over the years, Narsimhulu reportedly borrowed around Rs 6 lakh from different sources. Struggling to repay the loans, he is believed to have taken the extreme step in despair.
The body was shifted to the government hospital in Gajwel for postmortem. Jagadevpur police have registered a case and taken up investigation.
