Telangana: Three of a family sentenced to life in dowry death case in Sangareddy
Another man was sentenced to life imprisonment in murder case; accused Patlolla Ramana had strangled a woman to death for seeking repayment of loan

Sangareddy: Four persons were sentenced to life imprisonment in two separate cases in Sangareddy district on Wednesday. While three of them were from one family and sentenced in connection with a dowry death case, the fourth was convicted and sentenced in a murder case.
According to the police, District Principal and Sessions Judge G Bhavani Chandra convicted a man in a woman’s murder case and imposed a fine of Rs 500 on him. The accused, Patlolla Ramana, had strangled a woman, Bhagyalakshmi, to death after she insisted he repay a loan she had given him. He then attempted to portray the incident as suicide. The murder took place on July 20, 2018, at Makthalur village under Sangareddy Rural police station limits.
In the second case, Second Additional District and Sessions Judge Dr Krishna Arjun sentenced three members of a family to life imprisonment in connection with a dowry death. Sameena Begum ended her life on October 23, 2018, allegedly unable to bear harassment from her husband Bukka Jaffer, father-in-law Sayyed Moinuddin, and mother-in-law Zaheera Bi at her residence in Singitham village of Raikode mandal. Based on a complaint lodged by her father, police registered a case and investigated the matter.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court pronounced the verdict on Wednesday.
Sangareddy SP Parithosh Pankaj appreciated the efforts of the investigating officers and prosecutors for ensuring the conviction of the accused in both the cases.
