Hyderabad: Telangana would attend the meeting of Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) scheduled to be held at Jalasoudha in Hyderabad on September 1. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao took a decision in this regard and directed the officials of the Irrigation department to put up a strong argument to ensure a fair share in Krishna River water for Telangana State.
At high level review meeting held at Pragati Bhavan on Wednesday, the Chief Minister discussed at length on the 14 issues listed on agenda for KRMB meeting and issued instructions to the officials on the strategy to be adopted for the meeting. He reiterated that strong arguments should be presented on behalf of Telangana on all platforms including KRMB and Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal, to ensure equal share in the river waters. He wanted the officials to be fully prepared to make effective arguments before the Board.
Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, Special Chief Secretary for Irrigation Rajat Kumar, CM Secretaries Smita Sabharwal, Bhupal Reddy, Irrigation engineer-in-chief Muralidhar, CM OSD Sridhar Rao Deshpande, former Advocate General Ramakrishna Reddy, senior advocate in Brijesh Kumar Tribunal Ravinder Rao, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
