Hyderabad: Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu said the State government would be doubling the size of Hyderabad’s infrastructure over the next ten years to support unprecedented enterprise growth and prevent the urban collapse being witnessed in other major cities.

This major policy direction was outlined by the Minister during his keynote address at the NASSCOM GCC Summit 2026 in Mumbai on Thursday.

Addressing the critical issue of sustainability and the “urban load” that often chokes innovation through traffic and resource scarcity, the Minister unveiled the State’s aggressive future-proofing strategy.

To drive its vision of a one trillion US dollar economy by 2035, Telangana is building a Net-Zero urban ecosystem anchored by a ‘Bharat Future City’ and dedicated ‘AI City’. This expansion also includes a 340-km Regional Ring Road, massive metro and airport upgrades, and other initiatives, he said.

“We are running at the speed of double-digit industrial growth,” Sridhar Babu noted, recalling the foresight of the government 20 years ago to build the world-class airport and ORR despite initial criticism.

“In the next ten years, we are going to double the size of Hyderabad’s infrastructure,” the Minister said.
