Hyderabad: In the wake of increasing Corona cases in the State, Municipal Administration Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar directed all the municipalities and Municipal Corporations to intensify sanitation measures, especially spraying of disinfectants and sodium hypochlorite to contain the spread of the virus.
The Principal Secretary held a teleconference with Additional Collectors, Municipal Commissioners and other officials here on Monday and reviewed the sanitation measures being taken up in municipalities and Municipal Corporations.
He specifically instructed the officials to clear garbage and trash through a special drive and ensure sanitation before Sri Rama Navami festival. Besides clearing garbage vulnerable points, focus should be on extensive spraying of sodium hypochlorite and other disinfectants, he said.
Ensure sanitation at Public congregation points like bus stations, markets and other places and take up regular spraying of sodium hypochlorite, he directed the officials.
All the complaints and grievances lodged by people on social media networking sites should be addressed immediately, he said and wanted the officials to expedite sanitation measures. Additional Collectors should regularly monitor these works and there should be considerable change in two days, he instructed the officials.
Regarding the garbage clearance in TSIIC limits, he directed the TSIIC officials to clear the waste from roadsides on a war-footing.
Hawkers and street vendors have occupied space on the roadsides at Madhapur, Financial District, Gachibowli, Kara and other places and this was causing hindrance to traffic flow, he said.
Like special drives in municipalities, the MAUD Principal Secretary directed the TSIIC to take up similar sanitation drives in its limits and ensure cleanliness.
