Hyderabad: The Telangana State government, which has always focused on providing quality education to children from poorer sections, has formulated a new education scheme that will facilite upgradation and modernisation of the education sector in the State comprehensively at a total cost of Rs 4,000 crore. The government has set aside Rs 2,000 crore in the 2021-22 budget for the new education scheme.
Under the scheme, the government, in the next two years, will provide basic facilities in all government schools on a large scale. It will also provide buildings necessary for schools, take up repairs to existing buildings and provide necessary furniture, toilets and other facilities. Modern technology will be used to place the classrooms on digital platform, Finance Minister T Harish Rao said, presenting the budget for 2021-22 in the State Assembly here on Thursday.
