Telangana tops medals tally in 26th Sub-junior National Rowing Championship

Telangana wins three gold, one from boys section and two from girls category, and one silver

Hyderabad: Telangana topped the medals tally with three gold, one from boys section and two from girls category, and one silver in the 26th Sub-junior national rowing championship at Hussain Sagar Lake here on Saturday.

Odisha (three gold and a bronze) and Haryana (two gold and a silver) finished second and third, respectively.


Telangana and Haryana were declared joint-winners in the boys quadruple scull event by virtue of finishing with the same timing of 1.27.7.

In the girls’ section, the Telangana coxless fours team of Revelly Vidyasai, Nayene Aarushi, Gundu Gangotri, Gadya Vidyasri) clinched gold with a timing of 1.51.3.
The other gold in the girls’ section came from the youth girls’ double scull with Chippa Dhatri and Arupula Varshitha clocking 1.51.4.

Important results of Telangana rowers:

Boys: Double scull: 1. Haryana (Deepesh Kumar & Chintu (Har) 1.34.8, 2. Telangana (Kashaboina Abhijith & Gaddam Vivek) 1.36.3, 3. Punjab (Pardeep Singh & Ekamjot Singh) 1.39.0.
Quadruple sculls: 1. Haryana (Deepesh Kumar, Yash Kumar Yadav, Chintu, Shorya) 1.28.7, 2. Telangana (Naresh Choudhary, G. Vivek, Kashaboina Abhijith, Banavath Jeswanth) 1.28.7, 3.Tamil Nadu (Shravan Kumar Ganesh, Ketan Arvind Kumar, Krish Karthik Kumar, Rudra Ramji) 1.33.2. Haryana and Telangana – joint winners.

Girls: Coxless fours: 1. Telangana (Revelly Vidyasai, Nayene Aarushi, Gundu Gangotri, Gadya Vidyasri) 1.51.3, 2. Haryana (Deepti, Vanshika, Sakshi Rani & Yashvi) 1.51.5, 3. Tamil Nadu (Anika Ranjit, Samara Ranjit, Nitara Hariharan, Tanaaz Alexander) 1.58.3

Youth girls double scull: 1. Telangana (Chippa Dhatri & Arupula Varshitha) 1.51.4, 2. West Bengal (Suhita Mondal & Chandrima Gharami) 1.56.6, 3. Manipur (Khwairakpam Bidyaluxmi & Leishangthem Pritty Devi) 1.59.9.
