Telangana Tourism department to come up with restaurant on island in middle of Singur reservoir

Sanagreddy: The Singur project is all set to get a face-lift, as officials prepare a proposal to develop the project into a sought-after tourist destination.
Health Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha directed Tourism officials to purchase two 50-seat boats to operate to the island in the reservoir. Speaking after examining the Singur project and surroundings on Monday, the Minister asked tourism and other district officials to prepare a master plan and road map to develop the area into a sought-after tourist destination. Since it was located close to Hyderabad, it would attract a huge number of tourists, he said, and asked officials to come up with a design to build a restaurant on the watch tower on the island in the middle of reservoir. A food court, children’s play area, landscaping and gardening too were suggested on the island.
Damodara Rajanarasimha also asked them to plan a tourist hub downstream of the Singur reservoir in 29 acres of land. There would be a modern restaurant, which would be built with Rs 5 crore apart from 25 modern cottages along with food court, children’s play area, landscaping and enough place for parking. He directed the irrigation department officials to build a BT road up to Singur dam, a park, cycling track, walking track and central lighting on the dam. The Minister also directed irrigation officials to prepare for the proposal by the first week of February. He asked the R&B officials to build a four lane road from Peddareddy Pet Cross to Singur project to ease traffic congestion.
