Telangana Tourism launches ‘100 Weekend Wonders’ contest to spotlight hidden travel gems

Telangana Tourism has launched the ‘100 Weekend Wonders of Telangana’ contest, inviting travellers to capture lesser-known destinations through photos and videos. Participants can win cash prizes and complimentary Haritha Hotel stays, with entries open until January 5, 2026

Hyderabad: Telangana Tourism announced the ‘100 Weekend Wonders of Telangana’ contest in Hyderabad on Wednesday. The contest invites photography and travel enthusiasts to capture the unseen beauty of the state’s lesser-known destinations through photographs and short videos, aiming to inspire weekend trips that highlight authentic local experiences across nature, culture, and rural landscapes.

In a statement, the Tourism department said that participants are encouraged to explore themes such as nature, wildlife, art and culture, heritage, water bodies, culinary experiences, farm and rural stays, resorts, spiritual sites, and adventure locations. Each entry must feature a unique place within Telangana that is suitable for a weekend getaway and easily accessible by travellers.

Attractive prizes include a first prize of Rs 50,000, a second prize of Rs 30,000, and a third prize of Rs 20,000. In addition, 10 consolation prize winners will receive a complimentary 2-day/1-night stay at select Haritha Hotels to encourage further exploration of Telangana’s tourism circuits, it said.

Participants can submit entries by scanning the QR code on the campaign poster or by posting their photos and videos on social media platforms Instagram or X, according to the release.

Entries open on December 10 and will be accepted until January 5, 2026. Winners will be announced during the Sankranthi Kite Festival, and for details, visit www.tourism.telangana.gov.in
