Telangana: Tragedy strikes wedding procession, woman dies as car ploughs through in Karimnagar

According to reports, a procession was underway in Metpalli village following a wedding on Thursday night when the driver of a car in the procession seemingly lost control, causing the vehicle to crash into the dancing crowd.

Karimnagar: The celebratory mood of a wedding was shattered and wails rippled through the village after a car in the procession ploughed through the dancing crowds. At least two dozen revellers were injured and a woman died in the incident that shocked Metpalli village in Shankarpatnam mandal.

Reports said a procession was being taken out in Metpalli village after the wedding on Thursday night. The driver of a car in the procession apparently lost control and the vehicle ploughed through the dancing crowd.

Bakarapu Uma, who was dancing in the marriage procession, sustained serious injuries. All the injured persons were shifted to Huzurabad area hospital.

As the condition of Uma turned serious, she was referred to hospital in Hyderabad. However, she died on her way.
