Telangana: Tribal woman raped, murdered near Kollur

The woman, belonging to Lambada tribe and a resident of Devlath Tanda, was reported missing two days ago.

Sangareddy: A thirty-year-old woman was found murdered near Kollur in Tellapur Municipality under RC Puram Police Station limits on Thursday morning. The woman, belonging to Lambada tribe and a resident of Devlath Tanda, was reported missing two days ago. She was allegedly raped by three persons known to her being being murdered.

The woman, whose husband also died a few years ago, has two children. Following a complaint from her relatives, the RC Puram Police have registered a case against three persons, Madhu Nayak, Nandu Yadav and Talluri Kutumba Reddy.


The Assistant Commissioner of Police of Miyapur S Krishna Prasad has requested the Superintendent of Patancheru Area Hospital to send a team of doctors to collect the vaginal swabs and clothes of the victim, which will help them in further investigation. Meanwhile, members of Lambadala Ikya Vedika staged a dharna before the Ramachandra Police Station demanding immediate action against the accused.
