Warangal Urban: Despite the false propaganda by the opposition against the ruling TRS over development and funds allocation to Warangal city, the voters in Warangal, the second biggest city in Telangana, once again reposed faith in the TRS leadership by voting for the party candidates in majority of the wards.

TRS candidates emerged victorious in 48 of the 66 wards in the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation. The BJP could win only 10 wards. The Congress won four wards, while independent candidates managed to win three wards and one candidate from the All India Forward Bloc secured a ward.

Former MP (Rajya Sabha) Gundu Sudharani of TRS won from the 29th ward while Baswaraju Shirisha, daughter-in-law of MLC and former minister Baswaraju Saraiah, secured the 25th ward as the TRS candidate.

Dasyam Abhinavya Bhaskar (TRS), who is the nephew of Government Chief Whip and Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, won the 60th ward.

Meanwhile, MLC and Ryhthu Bandhu Samithi State president Dr Palla Rajeshwar Reddy thanked the voters for ensuring the victory of the TRS party in the GWMC election. “The people’s faith in Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has been proved once again in the GWMC election. The city dwellers have voted for the development,” he added.

“The voters have got majority of the wards in GWMC as they were impressed with the development works taken by the TRS government,” he added.

Palla along with Ministers Dayakar Rao, Satyavathi Rathod, State Planning Commission Vice-Chairperson Boinpally Vinod Kumar designed and executed the campaign strategies to win the election as the members of the coordination committee on the GWMC ordinary election.
