Peddapalli: Two underground coal mines GDK-II and GDK-II(A), Ramagundam-I division of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) bagged the National Safety Awards for 2018.
The Director-General of Mine Safety (DGMS), Dhanbad, selected the mines for the awards in the category of coal production, productivity and safety of the mines.
General Manager, Ramagundam-I division, K Narayana, in a statement released on Tuesday, attributed the achievement to the teamwork of workers, officials and union leaders.
Stating that the national award had boosted the morale of the miners, he called upon the employees to work hard and bag more awards according to the priority of the safety of miners.
