Telangana: Two devotees killed, 20 injured after sand truck hits tractor trolley in Mulugu

According to the police, 30 devotees from Sitarampuram of Aswapuram mandal in Kothagudem district went to Medaram in a tractor trolley to have darshan of the deities Sammakka Saralamma

Mulugu: Two women died and nearly 20 persons were injured seriously when a speeding sand truck hit a stationary tractor trolley at Tadwai in the district during the late night hours on Sunday.

According to the police, 30 devotees from Sitarampuram of Aswapuram mandal in Kothagudem district went to Medaram in a tractor trolley to have darshan of the deities Sammakka Saralamma.

While returning home after having darshan, they stopped on the Tadwai main road to get drinking water from a roadside shop. A sand truck going to Hyderabad from Eturnagaram hit the trolley killing Ch Shwetha (40) and N Durga (38) on the spot.

Many of the injured have broken their limbs in the accident and were shifted to the Tadwai Primary Health Centre and Government District Hospital at Mulugu for treatment.
