Telangana: Two drivers killed as private bus hits stationary van in Adilabad

The accident took place at 4.30 am on NH 44 at Jamdapur village in Adilabad Rural mandal. The bus was proceeding to Hyderabad from Nagpur at the time of the mishap.

Adilabad: Two drivers were killed on the spot when a private traveller bus rammed into a stationary van on NH 44 at Jamdapur village in Adilabad Rural mandal early on Sunday morning.

Police said that Pradeep Sahu (35) from Chhattisgarh and Lohan Sahu (32) belonging to Madhya Pradesh sustained serious injuries when the bus which Pradeep was riding dashed the van parked on the NH, resulting in instantaneous death for the two at 4.30 am. Lohan who was a backup driver for Pradeep. The bus was proceeding to Hyderabad from Nagpur at the time of the mishap.


Superintendent of Police Gaush Alam, DSP Jeevan Reddy, Adilabad Rural Inspector Phanidhar and his counterpart from Jainath Sainath inspected the scene of the accident and found out about the reasons for the mishap.

The police ensured the vehicles involved in the accident were lifted to avoid inconvenience to motorists on the national highway.

A case was registered against the driver of the van based on a complaint received from the family members of the victims. Investigations were taken up.
