Warangal: A two-year-old drowned while his father and four-year-old sister went missing in the SRSP canal at Theegarajupalli village of Sangem mandal in the district on Saturday.
The incident occurred when 30-year-old LIC development officer Somarapu Praveen Kumar, of Mecharajupalli of Inugurthi mandal in Mahabubabad district, was going to his native place in a car along with his wife Krishnaveni, children Chaitra Sai and Saivardhan (2).

Krishnaveni, who managed to jump out of the car, was rescued by the locals. The body of Saivardhan was retrieved from the waters. Due to heavy water flow in the canal, Praveen and his daughter could not be traced out, Parvatagiri CI B Rajagopal said.
He informed the media that with the help of irrigation officials, water in DBM 48 canal was being diverted to Mahabubabad to carry out search operations in the canal.
