Telangana ULB polls: TRS leads in 22 wards

The State Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements for counting the votes in municipalities and Municipal Corporations.

Hyderabad: Counting of votes for seven Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and nine casual vacancy wards has commenced with ruling TRS party leading in 22 wards and has won four wards in Khammam Municipal Corporation six wards in Siddipet municipality.

According to the counting results declared till 11 am, the ruling TRS party is leading in three wards in Achampet, five in Jadcherla, three in Kothur and seven in Nakrekal.


The State Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements for counting the votes in municipalities and Municipal Corporations. The counting staff and candidates and agents are permitted only after producing the latest Covid-19 negative reports.

Meanwhile, the counting of votes polled in Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC) elections is going on peacefully here at SR&BGNR College and TRS is leading in 20 wards.

The first round of votes counting is completed in which votes polled in ten municipal divisions are counted and TRS has won four divisions and its election ally CPI won two divisions.

In the first round Congress party won two municipal wards while BJP and CPI(M) won one ward each. The second round of counting started, informed the officials here on Monday.

District Collector RV Karnan and election general observer Ahmed Nadeem are monitoring the counting process. Of the total 60 divisions of the KMC, votes polled in 59 divisions are being counted as TRS won the 10th ward unanimously.
