Telangana Urdu Working Journalists Federation honours Urdu journalists

Member of Parliament, Asaduddin Owaisi, congratulated the awardees and praised TUWJF for encouraging Urdu journalists

Hyderabad: The Telangana Urdu Working Journalists Federation (TUWJF) on Saturday held an award ceremony to honour Urdu journalists for excellence in the field.

The Faiz Mohammed Asghar Award was presented to Iftekhar Ali Wajid of Etemaad Daily and Yasirullah Shakeel of satellite channel 4TV. The Tabassum Fareedi Award was presented to Shahid Ahmed Tawakkal of Adilabad and Waheed Gulshan.

The Habib Ali Al-Jilani Award was presented to senior journalist Naeem Wajahat from Siasat Daily and Mohammed Asad from Karimnagar. The MA Rahim Press Photographer Award went to Mohammed Aleemuddin of Press Photo Service.

A Special Overseas Journalist Award was given to veteran journalist K N Wasif for his long-standing service in the non-resident Indian media category.

A Lifetime Achievement Award was posthumously conferred on late Habeeb Ali Al Jeelani for his decades-long commitment to Urdu journalism and the community. The award was presented by INN Chairman Sameer Waliullah.
