Hyderabad: The wine shop owners on Thursday requested the State government to favourably view the problems being faced by them because of the pandemic and extend the retail licence period by three months to compensate the lost business during lockdown.

In a representation submitted to Prohibition and Excise department, they urged to extend the retail licence period by one or two years by charging full proportionate licence fee (existing or enhanced).

They said the shopkeepers also suffered financial losses due to Covid-imposed lockdown.
