Mancherial: Forest officials urged the villagers to be cautious of a migrant tigress moving in the forests of Gudipet, Namnur and Mulkalla villages in Hajipur mandal on Friday.

Luxettipet Forest Range Officer A Subhash, in a statement, requested the residents of the three villages and surrounding forest fringe habitations to be careful of the tigress. He asked them not to set up electrified fences for protecting maize, paddy and other crops from wild animals, posing a threat to carnivores. Such traps could harm the tigress.

The officials expected that the tigress, named L1 might drift towards Nagaram by Friday night. They stated that it had moved in the forests of Gadpur and Bokkalagutta villages before straying into the forests of Gudipet a few days back. The tigress belonging to Kumram Bheem district had migrated to the district in search of a territory in November.
