Hyderabad: The Economic Survey 2024-25 has reinforced the success of the Telangana model, highlighting the State’s holistic, integrated, inclusive, and balanced development under the BRS rule, working president KT Rama Rao and former Finance Minister T Harish Rao said.

Citing the report to debunk Congress’ claims and reaffirm Telangana’s robust economic and infrastructural progress, the two leaders attributed the State’s continued achievements during the current fiscal to the growth trajectory achieved in the previous years due to prudent fiscal policies by former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.

“The Congress government is attempting to tarnish K Chandrashekhar Rao’s legacy, but facts don’t lie — Telangana was a trailblazer under BRS rule,” Rama Rao said.

In a statement, Rama Rao said Telangana led the country in State-Owned Tax Revenue (SOTR), with an impressive 88% revenue share, proving the fiscal prudence of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. “Notwithstanding the Congress’ misinformation campaign, Telangana stands at the top in self-reliant revenue generation,” he asserted.

The BRS working president also pointed out the State’s dominance in the service sector, ranking among the highest in per capita service GSVA and service shares in GSVA (Gross State Value Added).

He stated that Telangana’s We-Hub initiative, launched during the 2017 Global Entrepreneurship Summit, was acknowledged as a national role model in promoting women’s entrepreneurship. “It is heartening to see We-Hub flourishing,” he remarked.

Harish pointed out that Telangana remained a front-runner in irrigation, with irrigation coverage of 84 per cent achieved between the financial years of 2016 and 2021.

He credited flagship projects like Kaleshwaram, Palamuru-Rangareddy, Sita Rama, and Mission Kakatiya, stating that the opposition’s attempts to discredit them had failed.

Mission Bhagiratha, a pet project of Chandrashekhar Rao, was recognised for achieving 100 per cent drinking water coverage, making Telangana one of the first States to ensure safe drinking water for every household.

He reiterated that the survey exposed Congress’ lies, particularly regarding Telangana’s fiscal health and irrigation success.

Slamming the Congress’ failure to sustain Telangana’s growth, Harish stated, “For 10 years, Telangana witnessed phenomenal growth in economic stability, infrastructure, irrigation, IT expansion, and women’s empowerment, under BRS rule. The Economic Survey proves it – Congress’ false propaganda stands exposed.”
