Hyderabad: The usual monsoon experience continues to elude denizens of Telangana, with no rains and the mercury continuing its upward climb on the daily temperature map.
Unlike usual for the month of October, daytime temperatures remain high in the State, touching as high as 37 degrees Celsius in Jogulamba Gadwal and 36.9 degrees Celsius in Mahbubnagar, Mancherial, Jagityal and Warangal.
In the city, the highest temperature recorded was 35.1 degrees Celsius at BHEL and Falaknuma, followed by Keesara, Malkajgiri, Malakpet and Mehdipatnam at 35 degrees Celsius, according to data collated by the Telangana Development Planning Society.
Across the districts, daytime temperatures on Saturday remained around 36 degrees Celsius and above, while they were above 34 degrees Celsius in the city and its surroundings.
A series of weather forecasts pointing to the possibility of rain turned out to be false alarms, leaving denizens to endure sweltering weather conditions. The IMD-Hyderabad forecast indicated dry weather in the State on Sunday too, with the possibility of light to moderate rain at one or two places on Monday.
The forecast for Hyderabad and neighbouring areas for the next 48 hours indicates partly cloudy skies, with hazy conditions likely to prevail during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 33 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius, respectively.
