Telangana wins bronze in 7th South Zone Throwball Championship

The Telangana men’s throwball team secured the bronze medal at the 17th South Zone Throwball Championship in Tirupati, defeating Kerala in the third-place match. Dheeraj and Nithin Sagar played key roles, while the women’s team exited in the league stage

Hyderabad: Telangana men’s throwball team won the bronze medal in the 17th South Zone Throwball Championship in Tirupati.
In the league matches, Telangana defeated Karnataka by 15-12, 15-11 and Pondicherry by 15-06, 15-09. In another league match, Telangana lost to Andhra Pradesh in a closely contested game by 15-11, 13-15, 14-16.

In the semi-finals, Telangana lost to Tamil Nadu by 11-15, 10-15.

In the third-place match, Telangana defeated Kerala by 15-09, 15-07 and secured the bronze medal.
Dheeraj and Nithin Sagar gave excellent performances in the third-place match and played an important role in the team’s victory.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Women’s team could not progress beyond the league stage in the championship.

Kiran Chary, General Secretary of the Telangana Throwball Association, along with the association members, congratulated the players for their performance and for bringing a medal for the State.
