Hyderabad: A woman approached the Banjara Hills police alleging she was drugged and raped by a man here on Thursday.

According to the police, the 32-year-old married woman, who is a construction worker from Bihar, had recently migrated to the city in search of work and had been working at various construction sites in the city.

She alleged that the suspect Rajender, also a construction worker from Bihar, had, on the pretext of shopping, taken her to various locations and taken her to a hotel room, where he offered her milk laced with sedatives. After she fell unconscious, he raped her.

Further, he also recorded the act and threatened the victim to remain silent or he would publicise the content.

Based on the woman’s complaint, the Banjara Hills police have booked a case of rape and criminal intimidation and IT Act and efforts are on to nab the suspect.
