Peddapalli: A woman died by suicide by hanging herself with a dupatta in the bathroom of Godavarikhani area hospital early on Sunday morning.

She had recently undergone a cesarian section, but her surgery wounds did not heal and she ended her life in depression, reports said.

However, her relatives alleged that she committed suicide due to the negligence of doctors in the hospital. The woman, Uma from Rompikunta, got married in 2009 and concieved after a long time.

On December 11, she was admitted to the hospital for delivery and gave birth to a baby boy the next day.

After the cesarean section, she was suffering as the wounds did not dry up and doctors repeated the stitching twice in the past 10 days but in vain. They decided to stitch her up again on Monday.

Upset by the development, Uma committed suicide. Hospital staff found the body in the bathroom at around 5 am and the alerted officials, who informed the police.

Enraged by the suicide, family members of the deceased are staging a dharna at the hospital demanding action against the doctors responsible for the incident.

On coming to know about the incident, police rushed to the spot and began investigations.
