Hyderabad: A woman, along with two other persons, was arrested by Rachakonda police for allegedly killing her husband and trying to mislead the police by portraying it as a road accident.

The arrested are Vasthapula Swathi (35), along with Gunti Sai Kumar (33) and Pottepaka Mahesh (33).

According to the police, Swathi was married to Sri Vasthapula Swamy of Pallerla village in Athmakur mandal. The woman, a few months ago, learnt that her husband was having an extramarital relationship with one Savitha, who is the wife of Mahesh.

On learning about it, Mahesh warned Swamy to stay away from his wife and informed Swathi too. Angered over it, Swathi confronted her husband, who then started harassing and abusing her.

Unable to bear the harassment, Swathi, along with her friend Sai Kumar and Mahesh, planned to kill Swamy. As per their plan, Swathi, Mahesh and Sai Kumar, with the help of Ramalingam, hired a car. “On Sunday, when Swamy was returning home on a two-wheeler, Sai Kumar, Swathi, and Mahesh followed him in the car. On getting an opportunity, Sai Kumar rammed the bike at high speed, and Swamy fell from the bike and died,” said Yadadri DCP Akshansh Yadav.

The trio then tried to show it as a road accident. However, the police, on examining the scene of the accident, grew suspicious and thoroughly questioned Swathi, who admitted to killing her husband. The three suspects were arrested and remanded.
