Nirmal: A woman was murdered by her paramour at Bondrat village in Thanur mandal on Tuesday midnight because she was reluctant to shift to a town. The incident came to light on Wednesday.
Thanoor Sub-Inspector Rajanna said the deceased was Kerubai (30), a widow, and the accused was Laxman, a mason and native of Bosi village in the same mandal.
Laxman slit Kerubai’s throat when she refused to migrate to Nizamabad in search of livelihood, resulting in her instantaneous death. The two got into an argument and Laxman attacked her with a knife which he was carrying. They both were living together for two years. Laxman, who was married to another woman, came into contact with the widow.
Kerubai was married to a person from Malini village in the past. She got married to another person from Sathenapalli village in Khanapur mandal after her husband died. Her second husband died a few years ago. She has two children.
Based on a complaint lodged by the family of the victim, a case was registered against Laxman under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. Investigations have been taken up.
