Siddipet: Telangana would have remained an unfulfilled dream even today but for the 14 year battle waged by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Finance Minister T Harish Rao said on Thursday.

“Telangana would not have been a State today, leave alone completion of projects like Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme and Ranganayaka Sagar,” the Minister said, after releasing water from Ranganayaka Sagar into the left main canal to fill 123 tanks Narayanraopet, Siddipet Rural, and Chinnakodur mandals. Harish Rao also cut a on Ranganayaka Sagar bund marking Chandrashekar Rao’s 68th birthday.


Addressing party cadre, he said Siddipet area would never have gotten Godavari water had Telangana not been created. Hailing the Chief Minister as a man born for a cause, Harish Rao said Chandrashekhar Rao has been realising many dream projects in Telangana after achieving Statehood. The Minister distributed sweets and cake to TRS leaders and cadre on the occasion. Stating that Telangana was progressing in the right direction even though the union government had created a lot of hurdles, he said the Centre denied funds and loans to Telangana. Zilla Parishad Chairperson V Roja and others were present.
