Peddapalli: With heavy inflows reaching the Sripada Yellampalli project, authorities have decided to release water and issued an alert to people living in nearby areas.

Project Executive Engineer Buchi Babu, in a statement on Saturday, cautioned people residing along the Godavari River not to venture close to the banks. He also advised shepherds, fishermen and farmers to avoid visiting the areas near the Yellampalli project.

The reservoir has been receiving heavy inflows following water release from the Kaddam project and continuous rainfall in upstream regions.

Currently, inflows stand at 27,007 cusecs. The reservoir holds 15.5545 tmc ft of water against its total storage capacity of 20.175 tmc ft.
